Where showers leak
Most shower leaks in Perth homes are not the plumbing. They are failed silicone in the corners and at the screen, cracked grout lines and the odd cracked tile. Water gets behind the tiles, into the wall and out the other side as a stain or a lifting skirting board.
Regrout and reseal
Old silicone is stripped out completely, grout lines cut back and regrouted where they have failed, and new mould-resistant silicone run at every junction. The recess needs 48 hours to cure before the first shower.
Cracked tiles and screens
Cracked or drummy tiles are replaced as part of the job, see cracked tile repair. Shower screen seals and door hinges are adjusted at the same time. If the leak turns out to be a pipe or the waterproofing membrane, we tell you straight and you get a plumber or a waterproofer, not a bill from us.
